"When the shepherds learned from the angels that Jesus was born in Bethlehem, some of them left the fields and went immediately into the little town to find Jesus.
It is always exciting to see a new baby. The shepherds, who had heard the angel's announcement concerning Jesus, were doubly eager to see the Babe of Bethlehem. Like most people who wait anxiously to see something new, the shepherds did not waste any time getting to the little town. They were looking for Jesus.
There are many anxious moments for us as we eagerly await the coming of another Christmas. There are the times when we get presents for others and hide them, hoping that no one will find them. Then, when Christmas comes and it is time to open our presents, how anxious we are to see what is inside!
The real joys of Christmas enter our hearts when we look upon our gifts from others as their expressions of Christ's spirit of love in their lives. Our greatest joy, however, at Christmas comes in finding ways of surprising others with gifts of love. In this way, we, too, are sharing the love of Jesus Christ with others."
