Decorating for Halloween

The kids were VERY excited to decorate...if you can't tell.
Trick or treat!!!!

Guess who had the most CREW tickets???

That's right, Miss Adeline Kay Bean!
Today the school held an assembly and recognized each of the kids in their class that had the most CREW tickets. You receive a CREW ticket when a teacher recognizes your good behavior, like being kind or sharing. Adeline got to stand up and as she said everyone gave her "a round of applause". Afterwords Adeline and a friend Sophia both got to go and have snack with the principal. I am curious how the conversation went???? I am sure Adeline talked his ear off!
Good job Addy Kay....Mommy and Daddy are VERY proud of you!

Thank you Aunt Aleisha!

Adeline received a special package in the mail. Aunt Aleisha sent her some Princess pj's for winter. And these aren't just any pj's.....they have Rapunzel on them. Every day Adeline has come home from school this week she has immediately taken off her clothes and put on her pj's.
Thank you Aunt Aleisha for your thoughtfulness and for the much needed pj's. We love you!

Adeline's first official reading.....

Adeline's "Me" box has now turned into her BEAR box. Be Excited About Reading. Each week she will bring home a new book to read and practice. This summer Addy and I were working on her sight words and she had been doing very well sounding out words but hadn't quite completed a book. Mostly because all of our stories were pretty long.
Yesterday she came home and we sat down together and she read it to me. If there was a little difficulty getting a word she would use her "magic reading finger" and sounded it out. What a big girl. I am excited to hear her read more and more!

Day 4: Blue and White

I remembered this morning that Adeline got a Mona Shores shirt from Sydney this summer as a hand-me-down. This is the perfect shirt for Addy to wear today! She loves it!
My grandparents bought Andrew this warm-up outfit back two years ago and now he is finally able to wear it. The jacket has a football on it and the t-shirt says "Pro football champions: Junior Athletics"
For someone who wanted their picture taken...
...it sure did take awhile....
...to get just the right....
...one.

Mr. Potato Head videos

Since all I have been doing is sitting on the couch with my leg up and iced I have some fun video footage. These are primarily of Andrew from the other day being Mr. Potato Head. This isn't in the video's but he now has a basket just for all of his Mr. Potato Heads, that he carries around.
The kids have been very good this week adjusting to the very slow pace we have lived. They have been playing nicely together (most of the time), and have shown great care for me. I am praying that by next week my leg will be much better and we can start getting back into our old routine. Like I said the kids have done great but we are not ready to be trapped inside. If it goes much longer I do think we will all go crazy.

Day 4: Hat Day

I purposely waited to pull these hats out of the kids memory tubs until last night. I knew that once they saw them they would be wearing them around and I didn't want anything to happen before Adeline wore hers to school. And I was right, first thing this morning the kids found the hats in the kitchen and put them right on. We got these hats for the kids at Disney last year. Adeline couldn't wait to show all of her friends her Minnie Princess hat.

Once it was time for Andrew to wear his hat he decided that he didn't want to anymore because he wanted to wear his Toy Story hat (the one he never takes off). This was the best picture I got with the hat in it.
It is hat day, so any hat counts.

Day 3: Mismatch Day

Adeline was very excited about this day! Of course it is fun to not match and do silly things with your hair.
We did a french braid on one side and a pony tail braid on the other. I love Adeline's hair. It is so long and pretty and really fun to play with.
"me too! me too!" Andrew got dressed up too. And we had to make sure to include him in the picture.
And take a picture of just him.

Day 2: Team Day

I was very disappointed when I went to pick up Adeline and saw that Mrs. Coffin was wearing a Michigan State shirt. We might have to reconsider Adeline's placement??? :)
I forgot to take the kids pictures after their bath and before school. But instead I took these after school and after playing outside on a warm day. Andrew and Adeline kept yelling Go Blue!
My sweet kids!
Andrew had to have his very own shot also. Here he is coming for the camera!

Adeline's "ME" box

Adeline's assignment for last week was to make a "ME" box. We decorated it together while Andrew played with play-doh.
Of course on the top Adeline drew Rapunzel and Eugene.
We made a list of the items we wanted to put in the box. Eugene and Rapunzel, her soccer medal, her Awana vest, a rock from her rock collection, the picture of Addy running in the paper, and a family picture.
Adeline said that she was the only one that shared today. She said that she stood in front of the class and pulled out one item at a time. She loved it! We asked if she was nervous being the first one and she said no. That's not a surprise.

Lincoln Park Spirit Week....Day 1 Pajama Day

Adeline has been so excited about this week. Each day they get to dress up in something fun. Today was pajama day. Adeline was happy because she didn't have any winter/fall pajama's so Daddy took her out and picked her up some new ones.
Andrew really wanted to be in the picture but Adeline did not want him in it. So both of them are pouting.
I then told them that people would be sad to see such unhappy kids so I really needed a smiley one and this is what I got. What obedient kids.

Nana's $5 garage sale find.

This thing is awesome! Andrew drove it all around the parking lot. It takes a 12volt battery (which I guess is pretty powerful). The sirens and lights really work, and the hose sprays water.
The Beans (not just the kids) are going to have a lot of fun with this!!!! Thanks Nana and Papa!

Even in their pj's...

...they couldn't stay off the dance floor.
Adeline is over to the right with Aunt Aleisha...her feet are off the ground.
Once again Andrew was dancing with all the ladies. This time it was Tammy Telfer ( I think he liked her sparkly dress).
One last dance...during this time I completely twisted my good knee. I was holding Adeline, wearing thick soled shoes, jumping up and down. I felt a dramatic crunch and then lost my balance. Thankfully Aunt Missy was close so I could grab her for support, put Adeline down, and wait until I could actually walk to get to a chair. Not a good feeling. Not really just the pain but the idea of going through everything I already went through. As of now 9/19 my knee is swollen like a softball and I have spent all day on the couch with ice. I can hardly bend my leg without excruciating pain. It reminds me of how I felt post acl surgery. But, since yesterday where I couldn't put any weight on my leg, today I can. I am hoping and praying for a speedy recovery with no need for surgery.
The Forte kids, all grown up.
Addy and Uncle John John
What a special way to end the night for Aliyah, and Candy.

The Leiby dance

All four sisters having fun
Even the brothers came out....well actually they were pulled out, but they still came.
I was really impressed with their dancing ability.
Aunt Missy was hilarious. She just went crazy and Uncle Bob stuck with her.
Kailey (Aunt Tammy's youngest) got to dance with her Mom and Aunt Jackie.
Here they call out Grandma Bonner. Look at Brooke on the far right, hard to believe she was my flower girl almost ten years ago.
They played Elvis for her, and that's all it took.
She looks like she's having fun!

Daddy/Daughter Mother/Son Dance

This song was technically for all married couples but Aunt Aleisha already watched the kids once so that James and I could dance together so this time we brought the kids.
Adeline was all about dancing with Daddy. She is looking forward to her Daddy/daughter dance in the spring.

I did not have as much luck with Andrew. He did not want to be held. I think he felt restricted.
I'll take what I can get.
