A special guest

We picked Maya up from school today with Addy and brought her back with us for a couple of hours while Sophie had a doctors appointment. The girls had a great time playing together with only one rule and that was to be nice to Andrew. Andrew is all about playing with the older kids and they did a good job including him.

The girls also entertained me with two songs during lunch. I look forward to watching their friendship continue to grow through the years. It also looks like Andrew would like to soon be a Cubbie.

One Big Snuggle

Adeline isn't really sleeping but this is just another example of Andrew wanting to do whatever his Sissy is doing. James asked Adeline to come and snuggle him after she woke up from nap on Sunday and Andrew just climbed up and made himself a place too. Adeline's eyes are closed in frustration not because she is pretending to sleep.

A night with Daddy

Saturday night I went down to Kalamazoo to visit my friend Aimee and James had a night with just he and the kids. Apparently they played all night and after dinner James took them to the McDonald's playland. I asked Adeline if she wanted me to go away more often and she said "yes". I tried not to take offence considering I wrote them this long heartfelt letter before I left and missed them terribly. It was nice though to spend an evening with a friend and have some time to myself. I should probably do that more often so that each time isn't so dramatic.

Poor Andrew apparently would go up one step and then cry and then one step and cry. Adeline was very encouraging helping her brother but then Daddy had to go up and get him.

And of course Daddy treated them to ice cream. NOTE: He got one sundae and split it in half.

Both kids and their babies....

Adeline has allowed Andrew to be "Daddy" to baby Sasha. Adeline has her baby Ali and Andrew has his "bay-be" Sasha. Last night they each had their own babies sleeping in their rooms and woke up first thing this morning, ready to take care of them.

Just another example....

...of Andrew wanting to be like his big sister. When he saw her putting some barrette's in her hair he needed to as well. Adeline was not happy with me taking a picture of this which is why she isn't in the shot.

He found it!

In our closet we have a computer that is controlled wirelessly through our TV. James felt pretty creative with his hidden mouse and keyboard contraption under our end table saying that the kids wouldn't even notice. Well now every morning Andrew has decided that the box that holds the mouse is better with a car inside it. And he normally stores all of his flash cards in where the keyboard goes. So what now Mr. James????

I think they are REALLY becomming buddies!!!

Andrew's latest thing is to do whatever his big sister is doing. He wants to be just like her. And for now she doesn't seem to mind. I think she actually likes it because she can boss him around and he will do whatever she asks. It sure makes my job easier when they play so well together.
Andrew in Sissy's backpack that she put on him.
Both kids pretending to sleep with their horses.
Running around the house just acting crazy.

Buddies in the kitchen.
Andrew was Bob The Builder and Adeline was a Deep Sea Diver.

My Little Monkey

Someone loves their Aunt Betsey

Playing Together

I LOVE watching and hearing them play together. It just makes my day.

What's left of "Frosty"

I can't tell if "Frosty" is angry or not....can anyone tell me which finger he is holding up? Poor guy...he is somewhere under all that snow.

Playing at Aunt Betsey's

Tonight Aunt Betsey invited us to come and play at her house. So we headed downstairs and played.
She was a great host playing with the kids the whole time. We made sure that when we left we cleaned everything up.
Thanks for the invite. We had a lot of fun. We'll have to do it again soon.

Ready Spiderman...let's brush...

Adeline got a powered Spiderman toothbrush from Uncle Josh and Aunt Bethany a long time ago and we had yet to use it. I didn't want this to cause a fight between Addy and Andrew so we got Andrew a Spiderman toothbrush that lights up. Let's just say two little kids were very excited to brush their teeth tonight.
Spiderman, Spiderman.
Good job kids, make sure to get all of your teeth.
And don't forget your tongue.

Aunt Betsey is BACK!!!!

The kids were anxiously awaiting Aunt Betsey's arrival. She will be staying with us for a month while completing another medical rotation. The kids were at the window while she pulled in.
And they were right at the door to greet her when she came in.
Aunt Betsey jumped right in with the kids, ate dinner, and played on Adeline's computer with her. She didn't even unpack until the kids went to bed. What a great Aunt. We're glad to have you back.

Fun in the Playroom

This winter we have really taken advantage of our playroom in the basement. Adeline could play for hours with her Barbie house.
Some shots with my kids while Addy and I play with Barbie and Ken.
Andrew likes to pull off all their clothes and then have me dress them again.
The Cars have made their way in with the Princess's. Sorry it has taken so long Andrew.
A fun shot of the kids while playing in the playroom. And as you can see Josh and Bethany we play with the bag of 150 balls everyday. And everyday I pick them up...all 150 of them. ( I do have some help with the kids)
Andrew was having fun building with his blocks and then aggressively knocking them down.
What a cute kid. And yet so destructive.

Happy Birthday Grandma

We celebrated Grandma Kay's birthday this year at the Bean house. Betsey and I made a Mexican dinner and then followed it up with a delicious cake. Grandma's favorite, one of my favorite's, and I think one of Addy and Andrew's favorites now too.
For some reason Adeline didn't want to help Grandma blow out the candles maybe it was because she was anxiously awaiting eating the cake. Andrew was also ready to eat.

I am glad his baby teeth will fall out because I am afraid his teeth will rot with all of the sweets he eats.
He looks pretty happy here. And it has everything to do with the chocolate cake.
Yum, yum!
Addy and her Grandma whom she loves SO much.
Adeline got to help Grandma open her cards and gifts.
Andrew was jealous and wanted to help too.
Adeline decided to wear some of the wrapping paper.
The girls and the kids. The bottom picture shows Addy and Andrew in the process of saying cheese and I thought they both looked pretty funny.

And Daddy with his kids the morning after. Two of the people in this shot look wide awake and one looks half asleep. Hmmmm.
