"The crowds were pouring into Bethlehem. The innkeeper was a very busy man. It was important to take care of the people in the order in which they arrived. I was not possible to reserve room for out-of-town guests when it was not known they were coming. The inn was soon filled. When Joseph and Mary arrived there was no room for them.
It became the innkeeper's unpleasant job to tell Joseph and Mary that there was no room for them in the inn."
