Florida 2009

This years vacation was a little different. Other years we have been accompanied by a couple sometimes many people but this was our first time traveling by ourselves...just the Muskegon Bean family. I wasn't sure how it would go or wondered if it would be very relaxing for both James and I. But we knew we wanted to go to Florida so we did it. A perk was having the whole house to ourselves most importantly both bedrooms. James slept with Adeline and I stayed with Andrew so that we didn't wake anyone up when he needed to feed. A negative was not having the loving Grandparents who at a drop of a hat would watch the kids so we could go out or go to the beach just us. ( I am looking forward to next year for that)

The plane flight (both ways) started off with Andrew screaming, then eating, then sleeping and Adeline playing, then throwing a temper-tantrum (can you spank on the plane?), then playing. I was glad on the way down we were in the far back but on the way home we were in the middle. To think we were going to drive:-)

We had a great week besides the air conditioning unit breaking but it was fixed by Tuesday. We went to the beach every day, swam in the ocean every day, grilled out every night, slept in, went to the ymca water park, spent time with the Hemingers, and just spent time as a family. Adeline was a great little helper all week wanting to help me cook and clean. I was amazed at what a little fish she is and how much she loved the beach. There was no hesitation with the water or the waves. One day the waves were so big but she really wanted to go in so as I was holding her (keep in mind I am facing the waves so she doesn't) I was just getting pelted by the water. She has a cute little sun tan going. Andrew did really well on the beach, sitting in the sand, touching the water, and sleeping. Next year he is going to love it.
