Talking to a friend on the phone today we both commented about how your love is taken to a different level when you see your husband with their own child. I love to watch James with Adeline. She is always so excited when he comes home. She jumps, screams, says Da-Da (yes before Ma-Ma), does anything to get his attention. All he has to do is look at her and she smiles. He is an unbelievable father.
Yesterday I was once again reminded of his love. Adeline has been really sick vomiting and diarrhea non-stop. She has not been herself. We took her to the Doctors office because she was running a fever and we were concerned. It turns out that she has a virus that is going around. James would not let her go. When she woke up at 12:30 at night lying in vomit James was right there. While I gave her a bath he was changing her bedding and wiping down the wall and floor. At the Doctors office she ordered for us to have some blood drawn. We took her to the hospital and this time I asked James to go in while they were drawing the blood because I was already an emotional wreck. As I started to hear Adeline cry and scream no sooner did she and Daddy walk out. James said that they would be right back. Ten minutes later he came back telling me that he called the Doctor and she said that we could wait to do the test if we wanted. He was so protective of Adeline that if this poke could be avoided he would let it.
On the way home he started to tell me that he was sorry about her not getting tested but I stopped him right there and told him that he was doing what any caring father would do for their daughter. He was protecting her.
James...YOU are an amazing husband and friend. You are also an exceptional father. I love watching you love on Adeline and watching her love on you. You are special. Adeline and I are blessed to have you.
I love You, Charity
