Angela and John

My best friend from high school Angela was back in Michigan for her little sisters wedding and made some time to come and see James and I and the kids. We hadn't met her boyfriend John or heard about her five month trip to Kenya. They arrived earlier in the afternoon while the kids were sleeping so that allowed us some time to catch up. As soon as the kids were awake we spent most of our time with them.
Angela and John stepped right in reading to Adeline and playing with Andrew. I told them that Andrew normally takes awhile to warm up but to my surprise Andrew jumped right in.
Andrew and John, instant buddies.
After dinner we went for a walk to Frosty O's.
When we got back the kids had a bath and we got them off to bed.

Angela stayed in the room for Adeline's imaginary story...she enjoyed hearing about Radeline and Gandrew.
And of course I wanted a shot with my amazing friend. I love her!

High Five

We had to hide the camera to capture this. When Nana was here and the kids did something good she would say "up high, down low, elbow" and do the motions. It was so cute and the kids just ate it up. Now whenever we say give me a high five Andrew says the exact same thing. I love listening to him speak.

Another beautiful day

Oh, I love summer. It is by far my favorite season. Adeline and Andrew spent a couple hours just right here in the pool today.
I love Adeline's hat idea.
Andrew once again decided to be like Sissy.
And green Popsicles after both kids finished their lunch.

Fun in the car

Adeline and Andrew having fun in the car on the way back from Adeline's soccer party.

Skype with Aunt Betsey

We got to skype with Betsey and Josh and Bethany at the same time. It was pretty cool :-)

Adeline's last soccer game

Aunt Erin drove all the way up from Ft. Wayne to come and watch Addy Kay play. Erin felt as though she was in a sound storm sitting between James, Andrew and I. We were all cheering so loud.
In the video below you will see Adeline score her third goal of the season. You can hear James, Andrew and I all yelling pretty loud. You will also hear me say "push Matthias out of the way", and I would just like to let you know that was a joke because Matthias has been known to push out anyone in the way of him and the ball. I wasn't saying it so that she really would, which she didn't, and I am glad.
The team giving high fives at the end of the game. I checked with Rob (coach) and we did win all of our games. They don't keep score for the kids but us parents did. We had an undefeated season....I'm just saying.
Coach handed out G&L coupons and Adeline's very first medal.
She was so proud of it, as she should be.

Adeline and Coach Rob. Thanks for being a great coach!
And Adeline and her "future husband" Matthias.

Brother/Sister love

Adeline has been pretty big into the whole birthing process. I am not sure why now. She was into it when Andrew was first born but hasn't really been since. She just got done giving birth and now she is feeding her baby. She dressed Andrew (Daddy) for work and sent him on his way. He was coming home on his train when I took this picture.
Look at my sweet kids in Daddy's lap. They are both getting so big. So sad....they aren't babies anymore. I wish it were easier to get pregnant, because if it were I would be pregnant right now.

Our First Beach Day 2011

After the sweltering heat yesterday we decided to plan a fun beach day. I was nervous as we stepped outside to leave seeing that the sun was not shining and that the temp was only 69. We have a favorite spot that is right between some dunes so when we got out on the beach the dunes blocked most of the wind. The water was way too cold but the kids didn't seem to mind. After about an hour the sun started peaking through and it started to warm up.
Each kid had their own castle that they decorated with shells.
They were pretty proud of their work. We ate lunch, filled our buckets with water, looked for shells, buried toys, lost one toy, and had a lot of fun.
I had to include myself in some pictures to capture the moment. We are so ready for summer.

Adeline talking to Aunt Betsey

Adeline loves to talk with her hands. Even though Aunt Betsey can't see her she is using her hands to describe something.
Adeline had to move to a more comfortable spot to get better reception. She looks pretty comfortable.

Ahhh Summer Nights

We love warm summer nights...and it's even better with good friends.

Adeline's Soccer Game with the Grandma's

Nana combed Andrew's hair for the game and even confessed to spraying some hair spray in it. He felt and looked pretty handsome.
I was quickly booted from my chair while Andrew sat between his two Grandma's
This game was the most intense game of the season. The team they were playing were all boys and were very good.....and fast. I was surprised I didn't lose my voice. I was going crazy cheering/screaming. It was a lot of fun for me to share this moment with my Mom knowing how many years she cheered for me on the sideline. Nana mentioned how she felt dizzy after standing up, because she was so into the game.
Adeline played great. She didn't have any goals but she had two great assists to her teammates who then went on to score. One of the times it was really funny because she was right in front of Grandma and Nana when she had a great kick and we all cheered her on and instead of continuing on the play she turns and smiled the sweetest smile and totally forgot about the game going on. It was a great game and if we kept score I am happy to say that we would have won.
A break with the team and a pep talk from coach.
Addy with Nana
Addy with Grandma
A big thank you to Nana for coming and cheering Addy on.
Adeline with both of her Grandma's. Thank you for coming. One little girl was very proud to have both of her Grandma's there.
Andrew really wanted in the picture too. This is how he has been posing for many pictures recently. Silly boy.
