This is how I spent my day!

I got to spend my day playing with and snuggling this sweet little guy!  So much fun.  I was able to give Silas' Mommy a much needed day to herself.  I'll have to schedule another one again soon.

And she did it!  Adeline Kay Bean ran her first 5k!!  I am so proud of her.  As a Mom who absolutely adores my daughter and loves to run, this morning was beyond words.  I found myself getting emotional many times.  This girl worked hard to train and always maintained a positive attitude.  Her hard work paid off.

Most of the Lincoln Park Elementary GOTR Girls!

There were over 1,000 girls involved in this program.  And that is just for our county.  There were other races going on all over Michigan.  I don't know if this is just a Michigan thing or not....I'll have to check it out.  But what a great program.  A program that builds up the girls self esteem and encourages them to run.  Just Awesome!

Girls on the Run....early morning festivities...

Wow, it's early!  Adeline and I got to the field at 7:30 all ready to have some fun.  It was already packed with girls and their families.  We immediately got in line for Adeline to get her hair done and tattoo put on.  This is going to be a fun morning.  Adeline is so excited and so am I.

This guy was my little helper tonight.  Adeline wasn't feeling well and laid on the couch watching Little House.  He helped me roll the dough, and once that was baked he helped put all the toppings on.  He even set the table for me.  All on his own.

Andrew's Third T-ball Game 2015

Tonight the weather was better.  It was still cold but the sun was shining.  I talked with the coach about maybe having a small practice sometime before or after the games.  Now that the kids are playing two games a week there are no more practices. (and they only had two before)  My hope is that this will help the kids get more contact with the ball and a higher understanding of the game and it's fundamentals.  The coach was all about it which was great.  And I really think it helped.

Andrew had a few nice plays this game.  I was so proud of him for moving his feet on the field and not just standing still.  He did really well.

And the best part......he LOVES the game!

Game number 2 was cold!!!!  Oh my goodness....I felt so bad for the kids.  Andrew was not happy when I made him wear an undershirt, but I now regret not bringing a jacket for him.  He refused to take a blanket or Adeline's hoodie while sitting on the bench.  He is very shy still on the team and I think he was afraid someone would make fun of him.  So instead his poor little body froze.  His left hand the most.

As soon as the game was over we ran to the car and I wrapped him in a blanket and turned the heat on high for our one mile drive home :-)

Adeline did a great job playing baseball with Dad.  I love how teachable she is.  That bat is heavy, but she and Andrew both did very well.  I think we'll be signing someone up for softball next Spring!!!!

We came over to Great Grandpa Forte's house to spend some of the afternoon with him.  This is the first Mother's Day without Grandma and I know it is extremely hard.  Grandpa was not feeling well but I think the company helped boost his spirits.

Grandpa and I sat on the porch and watched the kids play baseball with Dad and James.  It was really fun to watch and brought back happy memories of Grandma loving baseball and especially going to watch John play.  I can picture them right now getting out of their car with their folding chairs and setting them up ready to cheer on John.  Baseball brings back a lot of happy memories for me.  I am loving all of this ball time our family has been having.

Mother's Day 2015

Today was a nice day.  Today my kids surprised me with love, flowers, cards, and special gifts.  I am very thankful to be a mother.  I am thankful that the Lord made it possible for James and I to have kids, and that he gave us these two.   

When I find myself tired, frustrated, and wishing my kids would just be kind to one another, I am reminded of the gifts they are.  These two bring me so much joy that far outweighs any long day.  They were prayed for long before they were born and I know many of the prayers have continued through their lives.  My job is to raise them to love and live for Christ and to be kind and loving.  This is a job I love, a job I will never leave. I will always be there for them.  And I will let them know that.  I will be real and honest, loving and kind.  Admit when I've made faults or hurt them, say I'm sorry, and be quick to forgive.  I always tell Adeline that Andrew learns from her and that he watches her.  That he looks up to her.  As a mother, my kids learn from me too, they are watching me.  

Thank you Lord for making me a mother....I can't imagine my life without Adeline and Andrew.
