I can't say that every day this week Adeline woke up with as much excitement as she did on her first day. What I can say is that she is very excited about sleeping in tomorrow. This is going to be an adjustment but it's also going to be a really fun year. Good job finishing your first week Adeline...now there are only nine more months to go until Summer :)

Adeline's First Soccer Practice 2012
Adeline actually missed her first practice which was last week when we were in New York. This was her first practice with a new team and a new coach. We were pretty attached to our last coach but Adeline's birthday came four days within the cut off which put her in U8 instead of U6. Before we got out of the car we prayed that she would know someone on her team and that she would have a fun practice.
As soon as we made it to the field Adeline saw one teammate from last year and then a new friend named Jersey that sits next to her in class. We were both relieved. It's going to be a different coaching style but with it being all girls we're hoping for a fun season.
One of my most favorite parts about watching Adeline practice is sitting with this handsome little guy.
Tuesday's and Thursday's
Every Tuesday and Thursday Andrew's friend Nick will come over and spend the day with us. Nick is a year older than Andrew and just a really good kid. It is very different being with just boys. Instead of playing with dolls, we play with Nerf guns. We're going to have fun.

Time to pick up our First Grader!!
I am sure recess will continue to be one of Adeline's highlights to each day. Andrew and I had a fun day together with Nick, playing, and picking up Sissy. I am a bit emotional missing my little lady and only have a few hours with her each night but I know I will adjust.
Adeline's First Day of School 2012
Somebody woke up with so much excitement this morning. This is Adeline's first day of first grade and it is also all day. It will be an adjustment for both her and I. I am so glad that she is so happy.
Another super special thing for Adeline is that Daddy gets to take her to school everyday besides Thursday. This will be their time together.
Could their smiles be any bigger?

My babies sweet skin!
Nothing satisfies me more than hugging, squeezing, kissing my sweet kids. Especially after not seeing them for four days. I think they grew in those four days.
James and I got the kids glow in the dark t-shirts. And then we asked Grandma to take a picture of all of us in our shirts.
I would like to give an EXTRA BIG thank you to Grandpa and Grandma Bean for watching the kids during our trip. They even traveled with the kids to Illinois for a family reunion. Aunt Erin joined them for the trip also. Thank you for loving our kids, and taking care of them while we were gone.

A place to rest our heads....
While driving home after two long exhausting days we found ourselves looking for the cheapest (but not full of bugs) hotel. After many stops we found this Super Eight motel that James was able to sweet talk down the price next to nothing. As the employee said to him "you are a very persistent man".
I don't know why I am so tired. I wan't even driving. James likes taking these pictures of me because normally I sleep with my mouth closed but when I am really exhausted my mouth will crack open. He took video's back when I was pregnant with the kids because since I was so fat (for lack of better word) I would snore. He's a silly man.

Until next time New York
Next time we come the new World Trade Center will be complete.
Riding the subway back to the hotel.
What a great time. Just me and my baby to celebrate ten wonderfully blessed years. I am so thankful.
Radio City, Rainbow Room
We both got large soft serve waffle cones while we were walking from Central Park to the NBC studios. It was fun just walking with my man.
Rockefeller Center
This was our last stop of the day/trip. We went to all the little stores, and traveled where we could in the amazingly large building. Last spot I stood outside the Today Show. It was Saturday evening so no one was taping but it was still fun to look inside.
James and I really wanted to view a live taping of Jimmy Fallon but because it was Labor Day weekend no one was taping. Not even Live with Kelly. We knew this beforehand. Next time we will make sure to come during a time when we can catch a show.
Central Park
I can't believe how BIG Central Park is. Next time we come we need to devote an entire day just to the park. There was a large play area where many kids were. They also have a zoo, a carnival was going on (where the skating rink is in the winter), and there was a concert setting up for a performance that evening. I think we only touched about one fourth of the park. What we did see was beautiful, and relaxing. These two days have been very special. If I lived in New York I would probably go to Central Park every weekend to escape the business.
Nice to meet you Miss. Liberty
Once we made it to the island we quickly went into the air conditioned facility to cool off. It was packed with so many people that it didn't really feel that much better. We ate lunch and then headed on our way to our audio tour. James and I walked around the island, stopping in the shade at different spots, learning all about The Statue of Liberty's history. In 1912 my Great Grandparents came over from Italy and were greeted by this welcoming statue. (that was not included in the audio tour, it's just something I wanted to share).
Our view from the left side of The Statue of Liberty.
I had to find myself a comfortable spot to rest my head.
Here we are. What a special time.
And James, being James....holding a water bottle and his phone trying to be the Statue of Liberty.
On top of the Ferry
I am thankful that in these pictures you can't tell how extremely sweaty we are. If you know me you know that sweat is not my best friend. My under shirt is so wet you could wring it out. James and I sat on top of the ferry hoping to get some wind while we rode over to the island.
A picture of New York as we floated away.
And there she is The Statue Of Liberty.
Do you know that she was a gift from France and that she is made of copper? That means that when we first received her she was the color of a penny.
Even though I am sweating like a beast this is by far my favorite thing from the trip. I had been looking forward to this for a long time.
Statue of Liberty
James and I after walking around aimlessly finally found our destination. I don't think I have noted yet that I think we had more kind New Yorkers who were just passing by willing to help us than any employee working (getting paid to be kind).
James stood in the scorching heat to get our tickets while I sat in the shade.
Statue Of Liberty here we come.
