Meeting Jinnae

Adeline and I were very excited to finally meet Jinnae Pulaski. She is a doll. So happy and full of energy. We had a wonderful time and are excited for next weeks visit.

An evening with Aunt Betsey..

Adeline was very excited when she woke up from her nap and saw that Aunt Betsey was here. Last weekend Aunt Erin (Enin) came to visit (I didn't take any pictures:() and now this weekend she got to see Aunt Betsey. She was very happy.
Unfortunately though for Aunt Betsey she was referred to as "Enin" most of the time. It was pretty funny. By the end of the night Adeline had made the distinction between the two and Aunt "Bed-sey" was herself again.

Muskegon Bean's Baby #2

That's right!!!! I know it is early but I believe pretty much everyone who reads this blog knows already so I thought why not. The more prayers the better! This is a picture of the two "blast" (day 5) embryos that were implanted on Sunday May 18th. (James and my 6 year wedding anniversary) Thank you Rebecca Whitson for taking care of me. James unfortunately had to work and couldn't get it off.

James, Adeline and I found out on Tuesday morning that we were pregnant again. This time it only took one try. Thank you Lord. I had another blood test today to confirm my HCG levels were going up and sure enough they went from 40 to 194. Right now the odds are we are pregnant with one child but there is still that small possibility that there might be two. Adeline kisses each one every day. I will have an ultra-sound on June 16th to confirm one or two.

At this point I am 4 1/2 weeks along. My due date is February 3, 2009. Which is two days after my birthday and is Uncle Josh's actual birthday. A very good month.

We are very excited for this addition to our family and appreciate all of your prayers for a healthy baby.

A couple things I want to remember...

...when she wakes up in the morning and all she wants to do is snuggle with her head on my shoulder for 10-15 minutes
...when Daddy, Mommy and Addy are at home together and we play music and dance all night
...random kisses for no reason
...her "Ruv Ru" (love you)
...her curls, lips, and beautiful eyes
...the way she says "Ada" (Addy)
...her "noh" (no), when I just look at her and see her pushing out something more than gas
...our tea parties
...pretending to eat at our tea parties
...only eats the marshmallows from lucky charms then asks for "more"
...blowing bubbles
...blowing on our hot food
...pretending like we are sleeping (breathing hard)
...rubbing our face and hair after we just ate a big bowl of goulash
...saying "mess" when she has something on her hands that needs to be cleaned off
...talking to "rella" (Cinderella) on the phone about going to the Ball
...sweet eyes
...the way she strains when she tries to open things
...reading books together
...saying prayers
...our nighttime routine
...playing at the park
...going to visit Daddy
...stroller/wagon walks
...playing with her castle
...the sound she makes when her Disney character's kiss
...how she loves to put away her toys
...bath time
...she LOVES music
...her yess, yup, and yea
...shaking her head until she gets dizzy
...sitting at her coloring table and coloring where she tells me to and with the crayons she picks
...how she gathers everything in her hands until she can't hold anything anymore
...her giggles and deep laugh
...the way she pats and rubs my back
...her hugs
...her efforts at saying new words
...the way she hums when she wants me to sing to her
...the way she takes care of her babies when they are crying "wah, wah" (Adeline cries for them)

If only I could record her life 24/7 then I wouldn't forget anything.

"Tickles"

Many family members and really, REALLY close friends know how much I like to have my back rubbed. Growing up in the Forte household it was very common to get/give "tickles". Our Mom or Dad would rub our backs while we laid on their laps. John still claims that I owe him a 30 minute tickle. Once I reached a certain age I wasn't as comfortable having my shirt up while my back was rubbed due to certain body changes. So when I married I was really, REALLY excited to get my back rubbed again. The truth is that it isn't just my back I like rubbed but pretty much any part of my body.

Adeline has also taken a liking to "tickles". I have always rubbed her back but now when I start she freezes in whatever position she is in, with her mouth open. She also comes to me, lifts up her shirt and requests a "tickle". I love it. She is truly my daughter. The best part is when she calls for DaDa and MaMa to both rub each of her arms. She holds them straight out and savors every moment.

She's too young to have acquired this taste; it's all in her; and I couldn't be more "tickled" that Adeline has her mommies love language.

My new reading glasses.....

....not really. With very short notice Nana was able to watch Adeline this past Saturday. Addy had a wonderful time and hasn't stopped asking for Nana.

Nana had some old reading glasses that I guess Adeline really loved. The funny thing is that because they magnify Adeline was walking around really funny not sure if the floor was flat or on a hill. Nana almost peed her pants:)

Thank you Nana for being able to watch Adeline. And also thank you "MoMa" (Grandma Bean) for watching Adeline on Thursday and Friday.

Wash, Wash

During Adeline's bath time a couple weeks ago we followed the same routine: filled the tub, tossed in each toy, put in the bubbles, sat on the potty, started the music, and hopped in the water. I always let Adeline play for quite a while before starting to wash her body. Normally there are two wash cloths because she always tries to grab the one I have. This time with the other wash cloth Adeline decided that she wanted to wash herself. She proceeded to wash her entire body even her hair, and rinse it. I was very impressed.

There were too many cute pictures to choose from.....

I love my froggy towel Aunt Betsey!!!

Adeline's favorite cousin...

Aunt Aleisha and Cousin Michael came to the airport to pick us up after we returned from Florida. Adeline loves her cousin Michael very much and was VERY excited to see him. Since we missed our flight they didn't have much time to spend together before we had to head home for a very important wedding. Aunt Aleisha and I have decided that they need to spend more time together especially since it was EXTREMELY hard to say good-bye.

Special video from Florida...

One of our favorite moments while in Florida was Adeline's reaction to her new Mermaid pj's from Great Grandpa and Grandma Bean. She wore it just about every night we were there and has just about every night since.

No Pictures!!!!

Today Adeline and I spent most of our day playing with her Princess castle. When I say most of the day I mean pretty much all day besides meals and her nap. She is addicted. While in Florida James and I found some Little Mermaid figurines (they were the only ones missing in the castle), they're a little bit bigger than the others but they work well. Each Prince is with his Princess and never to be separated. Normally she has two to three couples in her left hand while she figures out how to set up the other couples. Once one couple is set for example Aladdin and Jasmine I am ready to set up another but Adeline isn't pleased with where they are so we start all over. When I tried to get a picture of her playing this is what I got. A very upset Adeline. Hopefully I will have better luck later so I can show you how the castle turned out.
p.s. Elmo and Minnie Mouse are also a couple. Although James questions Minnie Mouse since she is married to Mickey and Elmo is probably four years old.

Florida!!!!

We had an amazing week in Sarasota, Florida. Adeline traveled very well and adapted quickly to the nice warm weather. She is a true beach girl. She loved the sand and the water and could spend all day there.

Special moments: Spending time with Great Grandpa Bean, Adeline's reaction to her new Mermaid Pj's, Adeline's love for the beach, Adeline's love for marshmallow malts, playing with each Prince and Princess, seeing Jay and Trina and their six kids, date night (thanks Grandma and Grandpa), coloring on the sidewalk, growling like dinosaurs (had to be there), stroller walks, snuggle time in the morning, relaxing, sleeping in, and enjoying uninterrupted time with each other.

It is definitely different now that we have a child to vacation with. Different in a VERY WONDERFUL way. It is hard for me to truly express the happiness she brings to us each day and the joy we are filled with watching her grow and learn. She makes each day beautiful.

At 1 am....

....James and I went to bed. I kept telling him that I felt like something bad was going to happen. I felt very unsettled. I continued to pray over our house, family and Adeline for protection. Then I fell asleep.

At 2 am....Adeline woke up in her crib. I went in to get her and her first words were "baby" (meaning pick up baby) and "blanky" (meaning pick up my blanket). And then she lifted her arms so that I could get her. She was pretty warm, but with wearing a thick pj outfit, the warmer night temps, and teething, I didn't think much of it. I pulled her into the guest bed with me, unzipped her pj's and we tried to go to bed. Once again I felt like something bad was going to happen so I prayed for protection. Then I started to pray that if something bad did happen that God would watch over us. But, I stopped myself because who wants to pray that prayer.

At 3 am....a restless yet talkative Adeline.

At 4 am....Adeline started to lightly cry. I find drool on the pillow. I went to grab her and she was shaking. I sat up and pulled her into my lap but her head rolled back. I called her name and she didn't respond. We ran in to the bathroom where the light was on dim and I called out for James. I had her in my lap and realized that she was having a seizure. I checked her mouth remembering the stories of my sister when she had a seizure and was choking on her tongue. Her mouth was clenched shut but she wasn't choking. James ran in and took Adeline. We pulled her out of her clothes. Her hands were tight fists, she was shaking, and crying.

I grabbed my phone and called 911. The operator took my information and continued to ask me what my name was. I ran downstairs and turned on a light, unlocked all the doors and called for James. James called his Dad while holding Adeling to ask for help.

3-4 minutes later....I put pants on James in the kitchen because he was holding Adeline. She was no longer shaking but was limp and starting to cry louder. I called my mom and she said to take her temp, get a cool cloth, and give her some Motrin.

1 minute later....The Ambulance, Police, Fire Men, and City Truck all arrived. They came in and asked us questions. Adeline was still crying and unresponsive. They took her in her diaper with a blanket and I ran to the Ambulance. They told me I needed to ride in front so I only had a small window to look through to see my baby. She had an oxygen mask on with stickers all over her chest and they put in an IV. She was crying. We headed for the hospital and James followed us in the Jeep.

5 minutes later....We arrived at the Hospital. I met Adeline as they pulled her out of the Ambulance. She was crying, she looked at me and started to cry even more. She knew who I was. We went in to the room, they gave her Tylenol and drew her blood. She was just laying on the table, not fighting all the people around her. I sang her "Adeline" song in her ear to calm her. We changed her diaper because she was soaked. I asked if I could hold her and they said yes. What a feeling. She calmed down and fell asleep.

4 hours later...After blood work, an IV, Tylenol and Motrin, a urine sample, a chest x-ray, no more seizures, and no need for a spinal tap. The Dr. explained to us what he thought happened.

Adeline had what is called a Febrille Seizure which is caused by a fast rising fever. Normally a reaction to some kind of infection. Fortunately and unfortunately for us the only thing Adeline had was a minor left ear infection. I was sure she had a urinary track infection but that came back negative.

I continued to pray that this didn't happen again. In my family history my Grandma, Dad and Sister all had one and only one. But now 2 days have past and no evience of any reoccureence!

This week three of our friends had babies. Beautiful, precious babies. I remember holding Adeline for the first time after all it took to get her. The evening before Adeline's seizure I was talking to friends about two women who just recently lost their babies to SIDS and when Adeline did not respond to me I thought that I was going to lose her. I can not describe how horrible that felt. I tried to remain calm for the 911 call and the paramedics but inside I was falling apart. That awful feeling I felt the night before about something bad happening or going to happen. I prayed and prayed and prayed that this wasn't it. That I wasn't going to lose my baby.

And it wasn't. Thank you Lord! THANK YOU LORD!

I love you Adeline. I do not want to ever, EVER imagine life with out you. You are my baby. My Sweet Adeline.

Thank you Lord!
