This little guy was on fire today. He is absolutely loving football. Just watching him makes me excited. I'm so proud of his hard work. And I just love seeing him have fun, work hard, and enjoy what he's doing.

Summer Swim Lessons 6/29
For the next two weeks the kids have swim lessons every evening, Monday-Thursday. Adeline was extremely excited about this....Andrew on the other hand was a bit nervous. But...once each hit the water they were both fearless. Last time the kids were in swim lessons we had to stay out of the pool area and watch from above. This year we are at the Muskegon Y and the parents are allowed to sit in and watch.
Adeline showing no fear jumping off the diving board.
Addy was in the deep end most of the time and Andrew's class is right in front of where the parents sit. So much of my attention was on Andrew. I was very proud of him and how well he did. The fear of the water was no longer there. The competitive side was back.

Bumper Boats
The kids spent a lot of time turning in circles but eventually they got the hang of it. And then they chose to stay under the sprinkler the rest of the time. And they got a little wet.
Mommy in the batting cage
Adeline taped me hitting. I think I had a few good swings...and maybe a few bad ones too :-)
Andrew in the batting cages
Batting for Andrew was a bit of a different story. He is so competitive. He turns into a big grump. There are two videos. The one below is my second favorite. I chose not to post or upload my first favorite because it would offend Andrew (like the monopoly video). But it's a really funny video because after this one James and I were told to be quiet and not talk to him while he's batting. And then at the end he tells me to stop taping while in tears. It took awhile to recover.
So what I see here is Andrew is naturally athletic (he hit more balls than I did) but he is so competitive. He does way better with a team atmosphere and when he is not with mom or dad or any family member (except Uncle John so far). So we'll have to see how this turns out. It took awhile for him to calm down (and might I add he hit really well....but not well enough for his standards).
Adeline in the batting cages....
Adeline did great in the batting cages. She had a positive attitude, worked hard and did not get discouraged. We plan to have her try out softball next spring. Now we just have to work a little harder on the glove.
Family Putt Putt
Always for to putt-putt. Both kids did well and there weren't any tears for not winning. I consider it a success.
Go Karts!!!
Definitely the best part of Craig's Cruisers..... So much fun. Next year I think they will be driving James and I!!

Sleeping with his football
We got Adeline a Volleyball and Andrew a Football while they were at cousin camp. Adeline and I have been playing/learning Volleyball and Andrew has been practicing with his Football. This is the right size for him and the size he uses at flag football. Can you tell he likes it?
Andrew loses his first tooth
So Mister Andrew comes out of the house and says "my tooth is really wiggly". I think biting apart his Legos may have something to do with it. Sure enough it was loose. He looks like he was crying but it is just his eyes still being swollen. Two pulls and it was out. What a big boy! It is really official now....he's losing baby teeth......

Cousin Camp 2015
Picked the kids up from cousin camp. They had so many stories and so much excitement to share. One big one was poor Andrew getting bit by something or rubbing something on his eyes (it is unknown). Both were severely swollen. Poor kid looked like he was in a boxing match. We took him to the urgent care on our way home and got him started on some medication.
Aside from that they came home with special boxes filled with their many crafts and fun adventures. I am so glad they have this time together. It allows the cousins to really bond with each other. Thank you Grandpa Bean and Grandma Kay for doing this. The kids sure do love it. And every year Grandma adds to the photo album....so fun to look back and see all of their great times.
James and I enjoyed a quiet house, getting projects done, spending time with friends, going on a date, and going to the movies.

Happy Birthday/Father's Day Daddy
This Father's Day was a bit different for us. Thursday I got really sick and ended up getting Strep also. This strep put me out for five days. Headache, fever, chills, body aches, and a terrible sore throat. So yesterdays plans to go to Craigs Cruisers had to be put off a week. We still came down to Olivet in hopes that with an antibiotic in me I would begin to feel better. And the kids were to stay in Olivet for cousin camp.
So I spent most of the day in bed sleeping. James went with the kids to church with my Dad and brother and then back to my Grandpa's. They celebrated his birthday there and Father's day which was so sweet. Then they came back to the Bean house and we celebrated there too.
Happy Birthday James Bean....I love you!

Wiped out
After flag football this morning Andrew came home, grabbed the blanket and just fell asleep on the couch. He isn't sick anymore, just exhausted. Long summer hours are kicking in.

Donuts, beach, and a lighthouse....
Olivia stayed the night with us last night. This morning the kids went on the trampoline first thing and waited while I made donuts for breakfast. After that we headed to the beach for a few hours. It was a beautiful day. When we left the beach we stopped and took a walk out to the lighthouse.
It was a relaxng, fun afternoon.
Andrew wanted to be buried in the sand
Matching swimsuits
Andrew and I threw the football most of our time at the beach.
This kid loves to throw...
Cute picture of the kids by the lighthouse surrounded by graffiti!

Andrew's first flag football practice
Andrew was pretty excited about playing flag football. Today was the first day. His buddy Sully is playing with him. Today there were six boys total. Not sure if there will be more kids showing up. We were hoping for more kids so that there would be Saturday scrimmages. We'll see how it turns out. If anything Andrew will be able to learn some good fundamentals.
